Expert Witness Services

Brant Associates provides Expert Witnesses in the fields of Quantum and Forensic Delay Analysis.

Brant Associates are aware that the role of the Expert Witness is highly specialised. It requires comprehensive training and experience in the field of expertise.  It is also beneficial to have a detailed knowledge of both the construction industry and the legal process.  Brant Associates is able to provide personnel with these attributes.

Brant Associates’ personnel are able to combine the preparation of a detailed report with the ability to both present evidence and handle cross examination.

Role of the Expert

Brant Associates recognise that in recommending an Expert Witness to a Client, Instructing Solicitors are putting their reputation on the line.

We understand the duty to the Court or tribunal and the need for impartiality, staying within the boundaries of the area of expertise, as well as early advice to Instructing Solicitors of the strengths and weaknesses of claims being advanced or defended.

We have considerable experience in Construction Dispute Management and Resolution. We act for Contractors, Employers and Sub-Contractors as well as other organisations such as Architects, representing either Claimant/ Respondent or Plaintiff/ Defendant.  The knowledge gained is brought to bear on informal disputes so as to provide cost effective and prompt resolution.

We understand the approach of the professions in evaluating claims. We seek always to avoid confrontation, as it does not represent the most economic route to settlement.

We have a sound knowledge of Contract Law and its implications on the admissibility of the various Heads of Claims.

We have significant experience in working alongside the legal Profession, in terms of instructing Solicitors to deal with legal matters and being instructed by Solicitors to assist with quantum and time issues.
